Just took it for a test drive and it drives very smoothly.

Here's the details:
98 Dakota club cab
air, tilt, cruise, pwr windows/locks/mirrors
red sprayed in boxliner
cd w/infinity speakers
aluminum rims
5.2L V8 automatic
97,000 kms
very clean truck

Price: $10,900 Canadian

Keep in mind I am in Canada. What do you guys think? Is it a good deal? Is there anything I need to look out for? I was thinking of getting an inspection to be safe, but let me know any other ideas you have. Thanks.

Rob

If you go to Dodge.ca and look on the left you'll see trade in value. If you plug in your info you get:

Low: $8,205.00 High: $9,574.00

That's what a dealer should give you for a Sport in A1 condition. If you're buying from a Dodge dealer then the asking price is probably reasonable for a mechanically fit truck in good shape cosmetically. You should haggle a little anyway.

I usually buy used and I always have an inspection done at an independent garage. A 2WD truck is a little more straight forward that a 4x4 but a comprehensive inspection will potentially save you lots of money and is worth the cost, IMHO. If you are an APA member they'll send you a list of recommended shops that can do the inspectiions.
