 Subject: Identification Help!!!

I have a 00 RC Sport V6 2WD, i looked in the glovebox and found my rear end is 8", but i have ran only into 8.24(8 1/4) posi units. Would that state that mine is 8.24 and not 8" exactly like what is posted on the info sheet inside my truck? Plus would it be 29 spline too? Thanx
