I hate the looks of it, I hate that they stole all the gauges, I hate the interior.

Might as well say I hate the whole truck, I'll just take the mone that I could buy a 2005 Dakota with, and just rebuild my 97 back up from the ground, with more power, and better performance than this 2005 Dakota can offer.

But it looks like a full size RAM that they squeezed out of a bottle, too sleek looking for a truck. But thats just me, i don't want to drive around in something that looks like the Bat Mobile Truck, I want something that looks like it actually has a pair.

Just my 2 cents though :(

I find it very funny that this truck looks a lot like other trucks that a lot of Dodge guys bash!

This is what I mean:
1. From the side, the cab (especially the back doors, looks like the Silverado crew cab coming out later this year.
2. From the side, the front and rear fenders look like the Nissan Titan,
3. The back of the truck reminds me of the new Toyota Tundra stepside, mainly because of the tail lights.
4. The front looks like a new Durango.

I'm guessing that the Durango influence is probably going to make this new Dakota less capable off road because the approach angle, departure angle, and overall ground clearance are very poor on the new Durango.
No Hemi? Same ball joints? No manual tranny for the v-8? I thought the new Dakota might tempt me to give Dodge a second chance, but I was wrong.

I bet in a few years after the 05 has been out a while and they're coming back off lease you whiners will be snapping them up. I wonder if this is the same wailing and gnashing of teeth heard when the G3 came out?

Why don't you folks wait until you can actually drive one before you make up your minds. I've been in Dodges for 22 years and all I can say is most of you guys aren't really Mopar fans. You're just wannabe's looking for a fad to cling on to. Call me a brand whore, I can take it. But most of you are not true Mopar fans. Go get a Canyawn or a Turdra. It'll make me happy. Real Mopar fans will wait to see before they Judge.

No, I'm not a "real Mopar fan". Dodge didn't exactly convince me to stick with their products when the first one I bought is junk.
Actually, my next truck will be a Titan, but I considered the Tundra. The blind loyalty to a particular auto maker is the same narrow mindedness that creates racism. I'll buy from whoever makes the better product.

Then why are you here with real Dodge fans? Why don't you go get your Titan and hang out with Toyota fans? Coming here to bash Dodge must be a waste of your life, no?

And trying to equate the causes of racism with liking one particular brand of vehicle is so utterly stupid it really says more about you and your mentality than people who like their trucks.

I have no desire to get rid of my 89 Dakota, 69 Road Runner or 01 PT Cruiser. But I do have to say that DCX has left me, I did not leave DCX. While other companies can survive and thrive under control of another company, Daimler has completely squelched the creative soul that used to be Chrysler. The flowing lines of Tom Gale shall be no more. No slab sided Daimler designs for me, please!

I was a Chrysler Corporation customer on principle. The support for those principles is gone, and the new product is proving it.

I won't be a prospect for any of the new Daimlerized products. For the first time in 25 years, I will go elsewhere next time. If I'd have wanted a Mercedes or Mitsubishi, I'd have bought one! It's only gonna get worse from this point forward, I'm very sorry to say! The "Merger" has changed the landscape tremendously. Even the most loyal Die Hard will have to admit that soon!

Actually, I come here because I am a car/truck enthusiast. Plus, as a Dakota owner, I better know what the latest problems are while I still have this rattle-trap in my possession. Not only that, but I'm doing my part to let any perspective buyers know that there are many dissatisfied Daimler/Chrysler customers!

If you can't see the correlation between blind loyalty and racism, then I think your the one that rates a little lower on the mental evolutionary scale.

I have noticed that about the same 5 people continually post about how bad Dodge vehicles are. These few have every problem in the book.
My '02 has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have owned just about every brand out there so I have something to compare to. You and your "rattle-trap" are wasting bandwidth trying to convince me otherwise.

That is one FUGLY truck, especially the red one at the chicago auto show. Whats with the front bumper? That thing sticks out way too far. And those square fender wells look like ass, not to mention the side molding. Looks very much like one of GM's ass ugly designs. Plus there is no regular cab, no sport model, and no manual tranny for the v8's. What a bunch of $hit. Dodge dropped the ball on this one.

If you like it buy it, if you don't like it don't buy it. Seems simple to me. Dodge will sell alot of them. Change is inevitable. There is nothing you can do about it. Life goes on.
