Subject: Ext. Warr for 2002-yes or no?

Message:
I'm getting ready to place an order for a new 2002 SLT Club Cab 4x2 4.7 V8 Auto. Should I purchase an ext. warranty/service contract now or not? I've been visiting this board for months and hear/see most of you seem not to have had many major malfunctions; trannies falling out and such. Most seem to be annoying and angravating. Would it be worth it? I'll be moving to Tuscon soon and plan on living there for years. Thanks for any suggestions you offer.

if you want to get an extended warranty, go to www.warrantydirect.com , they offer warranties for less money and seem to be very good. i did my research on them and i plan to get one for my 2001 quadcab i have. you can get it after you buy your truck too. you can get it anywhere up to the point at which the mfg's warranty runs out.

I say get it. On our 97 ram we had, at 50k the ac went out, at 58k the ac went out again, at 62 the tranny went out etc.... the $1000 warranty would have saved us money!
