is there anyway to clean an egr valve? i know your not supposed to but i don't have any money to buy a new one. is there anyway at all to clean? thanks

It's perfectly fine to clean an EGR valve. Try a spray TB cleaner to break up some of the crud and use whatever will fit to clean around the valve and seat area.
As long as the diaphram is in tact it's perfectly good.
