Are you speaking to me? R/TBull-sh!t, I mean R/TBlues is the one that chewed you up and spit you out. His words did get the point across much better than mine without getting ugly about it. Thanks anyway, I have an R/T. I didn't buy mine for looks although it does look good. I plan to take the R/T emblems off mine because they draw to much attention. If you actually jewed the price of your R/T down to within 1000.00 of a sport then you deserve a cookie. I'm just comparing retail values. Go to Nada.com and compare a Xcab 4.7L sport to a Xcab 5.9L R/T and the price varies between $4,000.00 and $5,000.00 difference between the two. The R/T package was $2,800.00. To top that off the R/T was almost always excluded from fatory rebates and dealer discounts. The last time Motor Trend did a special on the R/T it MSRP'd at over $24,000.00. My 2002 4.7L SLT MSRP'd at $21,000.00. I've never seen a dealer that would come off the retail price by $4,000.00. Dealers are dealers because they make money dealing. They don't make money by selling vehicles like the R/T for wholesale. If the dealer you bought from was so desperate that he had to sell an R/T at wholesale price then he won't be in business much longer.

you can knock off the heaeted mirrors and the overhead power group thing. Mine dont have that. Alot of dealers will negotiate just to sell a truck. They still make there money.

Hey Brian Y rt02, not talking about top fuel and superstock when comparing chevy vs. mopar is like talking politics without mentioning the president. Its like talking about the history of rock and roll without Elvis. Its like talking about building houses without mentioning wood. Of course mopar guys are gonna talk about it. Top fuel and superstock are what separates the men from the meat. Its like talking about the weather without mentioning the sun. Do you get the point yet? I mean you say that mopar guys are living in the past, but the truth is this....T/F and S/S classes are the FOREFRONT of engine development. They are in fact, THE current state-of-the-art. You and your g.m. are whats in the past buddy. I mean whats your argument? Do you have one? Is all you do is cry about the mopar guy's attitudes? Be a man and pull up your pants and tell them all why you perfer chevy over mopar. Spare us your insults too. Just tell us straight up. PLEASE!!!

Those are just the options on my R/T. Looking at the 2003 sales brochure the heated mirros are checked as a standard feature as well as the overhead console. I question that myself, but I'm sitting here looking at it. It does not have a sliding back glass as a standard feature though. I've never seen an R/T that didn't have a sliding back glass. That's why I put it on there. My R/T has both the heated mirrors and the digital overhead. Another option I didn't include on here was the auto-dimming mirror. I've never seen an R/T that didn't have one.

Why do I prefer chevy over mopar? Mainley becouse of the cars they built. I like the old mopars cudas and chargers etc. But Id rather have a chevelle or camaro or a nova. Maybe I like good gas milage to go with the performance. My hole point in this was not that dodge sucks. They dont. But the hemi was over rated. Your the 1 (B1) that started comparing the new hemi to the old, and I said it wasnt that great. Infact alot of small and big block chevys walked all over the hemi cars on the street and the drags. They also got there a** handed to them by 440 6 pack cars and 340 swingers too.

comparing the new hemi to the old is like some chevy guys compared the 5.3 to the 327. When they are nothing alike. If super stock is the the forfront of engine development than why are they still using old carburated v8s in old cars. There hasnt been a car built with a carb in almost 20 years. And I think we talked about the wedge and top fuel so we wont get in to that.I never see any hemi cars on the street then and now that were king. There always quick to tell you it has a hemi and that its real fast, but the moment you call them on it and ask them to race they run and hide for fear of geting beat by a chevy small block car or a 5.0 mustang.
People just like to say hemi. Yaeh its got a hemi, hemi this hemi that.

I dont like the hemi. I bought a dakota that I am not happy with and it is for sale.

Im not one of those dip sh*ts that go around with the calvin piss on dodge on the back window of my nova. Mine says piss on everyone.

What seperates the men from the meat are the cars on the street.

Vanishing,
199hp at the wheels and 300@the crank? I don't think so. I believe the 199hp at the rear wheels.
That just shows how full of sh!t GM is. Your saying that the Chevy with the 300hp 5.7L looses 101hp from the crank to the wheels? That's over 33% loss. That means your only 66% efficient. My R/T has 195 at the wheels with 250hp supposedly at the crank. I'm loosing 22%. I thought that was bad. No wonder I can beat a Chevy. The 4.7's are only loosing about 19% between the crank and the rear wheels. Either Dodge lied about the 250hp or Chevy is lying about the 300hp. I bet Chevy is lying. I always doubted that 300hp. 20% loss from the crank to the wheels is a good average. That would mean the High Output 5.7L Chevy is only actually making 249HP. Every manufacturer lies about their HP numbers, but Chevy really strecthes it.

I dont have the auto dimming mirror. I didnt know that was an option. I do have the rear slider. When I bought my R/T, I had original ordered a 4.7 sport 2 wheel drive loaded etc. All the dealer could find where 4x4s and 6 bangers in a search of dodge dealership with in about a 300 mile range. He did say there where some R/Ts on some of those lots that I could have for about the same price. About the same price ended up being 1000 more.

well that wasnt too bad of a response. Most chevy guys come on this forum (zippy, case in point) and rip on us mopar guys and sometimes guys like you help him out. Sorry you think that just because a car has a carb that its obselete. That fact that S/S cars run carbs and iron heads and STILL make them run the way they do make my point. Those cars crank out phenominal H.P. # with old box carbs iron heads, Steel rods, ect, and only burn a half gallon a pass. Its not what you have but what you DO with what you have. That is what I mean. Efficiency is there. They are probably 3 times more efficent (h.p. per gallon) than the average compact car will ever be!That is why their innovation is stunning. But Ive made my point and you gave me yours so Ill shut up now. The only reason I hammer some G.M guys so hard is they have no consideration for the Dodge fans on this site. And Im not one to let them sling their b.s. and get away with it without giving a respectable answer. I know you hate hearing about the hemi, but Ive never seen one taking a backseat to anything. If they are too chicken on the street then maybe they should give me the keys,...

actually, the sb. chevy weighs 575,and since when does valve angle determine(it helps)the flow of a head on its on.what about valve size and port dimension and you mopar guy can talk about your rehashed super stock cars all you want.jeez you think chevy guys live in the past?BTW whiplash?excuse me for not knowing the exact weight of YOUR truck.the reason we come on here an talk sh*t is a few of us like dodges too and we think this would be a good place to go,but when we get on here and simply say one good thing about a chevy or a bad thing about a dodge(the truth)all we get is a sh*tstorm of hate.

Brian, I need to live where you do and vise-versa. I had to drive 400 miles to get my R/T. That was the closest one. I'd be in heaven if I had that many R/T's at my disposal! This is Chevy country around here. Ford may have sold more F150's than Chevy did Slivers, but they didn't do it here. There are about 3 Chevys for every 2 Fords here and at least 2 Chevy's for every 1 Dodge.

Oh, Brian, the Z28 probably has the 6sp and has lighter reciprocating components in the drive train than the Silverado. It also has lighter tires and rims. That translates to more HP to the rear wheels. DUH

oh yeah,i forgot chevy sucks because its rods are 5.7in.instead of 6.123 and our lifters are .875 insted of .904.you can still get a.580 lift cam with .875 lifters and a stock rocker for 99%percent of people thats enough.and almost every smallblock chevy head flows better than a dodge from the factory,YOU ever heard of a flowbench?vortech heads flow almost 230cfm magnums? 190cfm the old 462 castings flow almost 220cfm,even smog era 882 castings flow 205cfm.305 heads do suck though.since when are chevy blocks junk i've seen stock blocks handle almost 700 hp.BTW,magnum engines have the same valvetrain as a chevy(stud rockers and such).who cares if a super stock car can run a 8.66 you can run a mid to high 9 with a N/A 406 chevy in a setup car on pump gas without the pro-stock tune 5500 stall and 4.88s

Bowtie,
I must have missed something hear. Who said anything about the Z28 heads not flowing good? What's your point? Who are you directing this to? Do you just like rambling? No offense, but I'm just wondering who the hell your talking to.

We could argue that there weapons of mass distruction on Mars? Who cares? This is a Dodge forum.

By they way, I raced Late-Models at dirt tracks from 1993 to 1998 and I ran small block Chevys. Every engine failure I had was for the same reason. The main webs would crack and break loose from the walls of the block. Then the crank would snap as a result. The small block Chevy was based on the 283. They kept boring the thing out until it structuraly weakened the block. As far as I'm concerned, the last good small block Chevy was the 327. The 400 blocks are really bad. In order to get the bore size they needed for 400ci they had to cut into the top side of the main webs to allow the piston skirts to clear. Every one of these engines I've seen put into dirt track service making 450-550hp broke at the #2 main. The entire main web would break off at the side of the block.
No B.S. man. I'm being straight up here. I went back to 350's. Even they would break in the same spot when pushed over 550HP.

If that was the case, the only men would be those who drive the 2.7 second (0-60) 1993 Dauer 962 Le Mans . If your a 140 pound wuss when you step into your car, your a 140 pound wuss when you step out. Being a man is a whole lot more than the car or truck you drive.
