Well, I broke down and finally ordered all the parts for my new exhaust system:

* Random Technology Catalytic Converter - 3-Way and made for the '97 V6
* DynoMax "Next Generation" UltraFlow Muffler (Has a "Y" configuration in the center rather than the old, cut pipes) - Rated at 1000cfm
* Brand New 2.5" Pipes from the cat on back
* Megs 3" Slant-Cut Chrome Tips

Total cost for the installation: $300 (That's not including the Cat and Muffler)

Everything is being shipped to the local muffler shop so i'll have the part numbers for everything after it's done this weekend.

I can't wait to hear this thing and see what she can do on the Dyno. :)

Get your hands on a Stage II K&N Cold Air Box. Let the exhaust really work to its' peak. Nice cool charge for the air/gas mixture means HP. Don't forget a 180 thermostat...

Who...me? Why bother with the cold-air box when i'm running a 25HP Nitrous Shot on top of the Powerdyne Blower (at 9# boost). ;)

I've been running the 180 T'Stat for over 2.5 years and also modified the MAP and IAT signals to "more suit my needs". hehehehe....

Bernd have you ever heard of somebody putting a stock 4.7 on a dyno,I wonder how accurate the 235 hp rating is?And definately keep up with the mods,its kind of like hearing about all the girls your single buddy takes out,it seems to help.

Remember that the factory ratings are at the crank...not the rear wheels. Subtract about 20-25% for driveline loss and that's what you have at the rear wheels. (20% = Manual / 25% = Auto)

Bob: I do a lot of testing for the aftermarket go-fast-goodies and have a deal with the Dyno shop. (They're Dodge/Viper fanatics and love seeing the new parts run.)

Bernd...man I wish you could do some tests on the 4.7L...It would be nice if a magazine would do a cold air intake and exhaust,computer test.Traction is a (big problem) with the 4.7L and R/T any one can do a smoky burn out with them.Thanks for answer.

The last person who was running dyno tests on the 4.7L (Flometrics Billet TB for the 4.7L, Exhaust, Intake, and Plugs) have a very nasty accident that totalled the truck. :( (He's doing fine though...that god.)

There's a few more people running independant tests but none of them were as accurate as the ones this gentleman was running. I'll try to get the info from him and send it your way.
