Went to leave work last night and the truck would not move unless reved to very high RPMs, and then just limped forward a bit. V6, automatic transmission. Any ideas out there?

Did you check the parking brake?

Many auto tranny guys don't use them, and when it gets put on, they foget about it being on. I do think there is a dash light for it though. never mind

Its the Valve Body in the transmission.
Take it in and get it checked out, Ive heard of this before on several Dakotas and Durangos.
Thing is, is that if you let it sit overnight and try to drive it in the morning it will probably drive normal again, but not for long.
Something clogs a passageway inside the valve body and gums up a check valve somewhere, BUT a new valve body usually fixes it.
Hope your still under warranty.
