Just read this article in the automotive section of my newspaper. Here, in part, is the article,
"Mitsubishi plans a Sport Truck Concept that will share the platform of the redesigned, 2005 Dodge Dakota pickup. Mitsubishi will produce the new truck at the same Dodge factory in Michigan that builds the Dakota. The truck which will be for sale in 2005, will be the first Mitsubishi-badged vehicle built at the Chrysler facility.

There was also a rumor that Mitsu offered to buy and produce the dakota as a mitsu truck but was turned down. IMO DC would not sell the rights to that truck. They have too much invested into there current line up. If you keep up on DC news over the next 5 years 25 new vehicles and configurations will be available....why creat compition with one of your own. Wont believe that story till I see it.
