Subject: short in headlights

Message:
I have a short in the headlight wiring harness on my 94 v8 dak. but its not really a short because the wires in the harness are all fine. i guess the metal parts on the bulb are not touching the ones in the harness and my headlights will either go halfway on, like a flashlight with bad batteries or they will completely go off. but then if i wiggle the wires around or hit the front of the light, they will come back on. i really dont want to buy a new harness from the dealer at $40 a piece. has this happened to anyone else? is there another way to fix it? TIA

the only reasonable way is to take it apart and fix it,its just a bad connection

Not enough description for me but if you headlights are inop and your parking lights are. You could have a problem with one of the female connectors on the plug that connects to the headlamp switch. I had this problem and didn't realize it untill a new switch would not fix the problem anymore. I had to get real small screw driver and bent the connector for a more secure connection. Eventually it melted a wire but it was easily repaired.
Good luck
