Shut it off???

I posted this before and I thought for sure I could get a answer today. I gess some dick for brains must have deleted fearing another F-up for Dodge..


If the needle is reading empty could but you still have 2 gallons left. Could it shut off the fuel pump?

Please Answer...............

Your question is tough to figure out.

Even thought the needle shows "E" there could be some fuel left in the tank. This is called the 'reserve' amount, but there is no guarantee that it will be available at the pump suction, depending on the angle that the tank is at. For example, all the fuel could be at the rear right corner of the tank if the truck is going up a hill.

I don't think that it will shut off the pump, but the pump will lose suction.
