Saw a new Colorado Quad Cab yesterday. Looked cheap on the inside...bad seats too.

Also, the I-5 motor was a $1,000 option! What's up with that. I got a V-8 in my Dakota for $590.

I don't think it will be much competition for the Dakota.

I think I'm gonna find a good 'Colorado' message board and check out the reliability on these. Given my Dakota has had the following failures in the first 30k miles -- IAT, TPS, Overhead Console, Front Rotors, PCM Update, Balljoints ... and terrible service from 3 of the 4 dealers I took the truck to, I'll be seriously considering a Colorado for my next truck. Dodge quality is sub-par ... it's hard to argue this point. I'm thinking my new truck will most likely be a Titan or F150 though. For either truck, I'm going to have to do some research on the reliability factor first, because I definitely do not want to go through this experience again. For the time being, the Dak will have to do ... maybe by the time the warranty runs out, all of the defective parts will be replaced by 'lottery' parts that might be of slightly better quality ... keeping my fingers crossed.

I would wait to buy a new pickup for at least another year. Toyota has a new truck coming out in the full size market. It's very impressive.

I laughed my butt off too when I saw that they were getting $1000 extra for the extra cylinder.

I think the Titan is Fugly. It looks like a toy. Face it people - the jap makers will not build a 'real' truck. Dodge, Chevy, and Ford are the heavy-duty makers. The other makers may build a pretty truck (that is reliable) - but they're not going to be seen on farms/ranches anytime soon...

Robert.....what kind of an idiot purchases a truck because of it's redneck reputation over reliability? That's got to be one of the stupidest remarks ever posted. The only one that I can recall that was even more retarded was the time that one guy (cant remember his name) stated that people buy Toyotas for lame reasons like "reliability". lol.
I dont want to start a flame war but seriously...some people never cease to amaze me.

I checked out the olorado and was no too impressed by it. It is typical cheap GM plasticy crap. I think the 05 Dakota with it's Hemi option will make a nice alternative to a Canyawn or Colorado.

As for Roberts comments, first most pick-me trucks never make it to the farm. Most are bought by suburbanites and live in a garage. I would bet that less than 1 Dakota in 500 owned by the people on this board are used on a farm for farm work.

Who would buy a $40,000.00 truck like a Titan and haul horse shlt in it? That's what the "trade" option is all about.

Who the hell would spend $40,000.00 on a Titan...seriously?? I mean its fugly and its not even a real truck. But I guess when you stick a nice little soccer ball on the rear window and go 'Off-road' in the gravel parking lots it doesnt matter now does it...

Used to work for a Nissan dealership and you would be surprised at how many of the parts are interchangeable. Maybe nissan and ford look alike for a reason after all!

I drove a Titan last week. It has got some BALLS!

The plant where Nissan builds them is now the model that the Big 3 are hoping to catch up to.
They plan to get there in 5-7 years.

Yes you can pay $40K for one - if you choose to.

I will spend close to $30K for the top dog! To get a similarly-equipped Ram - it would cost $35K.

Loyalty is admirable.
Blind loyalty is senseless.

The Colorado is one wimpy truck. How does GM hope someone will switch brands if they even test drive anything else? This is from Motorweek's road test about two weeks ago: 220hp/225tq (give me a break!),0-60 8.7sec., 1/4mi 16.5@85mph. www.pbs.org/mpt/motorweek/search.shtml Sure it's a 4-door, but come on! Are these oriental truck fans so bored that they have to cruise a Dodge board? I guess they never communicate among themselves.

I would be more than happy to buy a Colorado, Nissan, or F-150 and take a slower quarter mile time, less horsepower, and all the other disadvantages if it meant that I wouldn't have to take my truck to the dealer every month for another failed part (as I have with my $31k Dakota QC for the last year and a half). As long as it will get my dirt bike to the strip mines, haul my friends while towing my boat, and get me through the occasional snow drift without breaking down every other week, it's all good. Dodge blew it for me. It's about quality. My Ford Ranger had quality -- only in the shop two times for warranty work. Had the truck for seven years and never had any major problems with it -- just normal maintenance. The Dakota, on the other hand, sucks up all the maintenance I can throw at it and still has monthy failures. But, hey ... it looks cool, right? .... WHATEVER!

3% of all automobiles made in america are lemons. You just got the worst one. Try a company more than once to judge them so bad. My dad's ranger is soo bad that he's making payments on something that sits in the driveway. 6 months ago he went and bought a dodge durango 4.7, and he's like never driving a ford again... (the ranger was actually #3 for ford vehicles he had owned) we are selling the ranger for parts is so bad. So ya... go buy American made crap(ford, chevy) but when mercedes is a big part of how a company(dodge) works, it can't be that bad.
