2003 Dakota CC, less than a year old. The fuel pump on this thing has developed a high pitched whistle (at least I assume it's the fuel pump, the whistle is coming from the driver's side under the bed near the gas tank). Any one else have this problem? If others have this problem, it'll give me a bit more ammunition when I take it in to the dealer.

They all do that. It's not a "problem" as you call it. If you take it to the dealer to complain about that all you'll do is give the guy behind the counter "a bit more ammunition" to call you an azz clown and humiliate you in public.

Have you ever owned a fuel injected vehicle before?

#1. They don't all do that. I've checked with others who own Dakotas & Durangos & their fuel pumps don't whistle as loud as mine does. Some don't even whistle at all.
#2. I've owned 2 fuel injected vehicles over the last few years as have my parents, sister, & brother. Not one of those cars or trucks had a whistling fuel pump. All were perfectly quiet.
Guess I'm not as dense as you think, eh?
Now move over & make room for the folks who have pertinent information about this problem.

it should have a whistling noise. You dont notice it in cars as much because only thing between your fuel pump is a then bed... not a car.

I know they should have a slight whistle...I'm talking loud enough to be heard in the truck over the stereo. Also, you should hear it re-verb in enlosed places such as a parking garage or a house garage. I know where the pumps are located on the various vehicles in my family & not one of them is as loud as the Dakota's.

I own a 2001. Bought it April of 2004. Pump whine became really loud by end of year and had the local dealer install a new one 2 months ago. It was ok for about a month and now it is whining loud enough where I can hear it all around the back of the truck. It's going back for warranty. I can't imagine with current technology we have singing pumps in a fuel tank, Dodge or otherwise.
