It's another electronic doo-dad for those that can't drive. If you can't regulate the throttle well enough prevent slippage when it's icy, then you need this. When it's snowy do see that guy who thinks that that mashing the throttle and spinning the tires is the best way to get moving? That's who it's designed for.

traction control works well, on my wife's concorde. if you have a durango, and it's slick enough to spin the wheels, then put it in 4x4. if you have a 2 wheel drive, it may be worth it. you can turn it off when needed (if you're rocking it out of somewhere, etc)
