 Subject: 3.9 Dak vs. 3.4 Taco?

I have a friend who wants to race me when he gets in town on friday. I have a 3.9 V6 Dak and he has a 3.4 V6 Toyota Prerunner, both our trucks are bone stock. Which one of us do you think will prevail?

Depends on you, and whether your a SC/QC/ and he is a SC/QC. Weight is a big factor and if I remember my numbers right I thing our 3.9's have more torque. I raced my buddies 3.4 Quad cab pre-runner with my SC 3.9 and dusted him by at least two car lengths the whole mile we raced. But also he is automatic and I'm standard.

Both of our trucks are auto's....not too sure on the weights, though I know his Taco is considerably lighter.

I might tend to think that the toy may when over the dak in this situation if the toyota is actually much lighter. Take you tailget off... Maybe your spare, and passenger seat and door. Dont forget your jack behind the seat.

if you know how to use an automatic it can beat a manual. i did in my 3.9 v6 cc dak. got wasted once though by a 2.5l 4-cyl reg cab dak/feather on wheels.

I don't know why everyone seems to have such a problem with the 2.5l. It's not too slow when you put some work into it. It's a joke when it's stock though.
By the way... I was obviously joking when I said to remove all of that. Not stupid. But if your into that, you shoud check out the new carbon fiber guage needles. They should shave off some serious weight.

The 3.9 auto I test drove felt about as quick as the 2.4 standard Taco I was trading - start thinking up excuses now. Not saying Taco is better, I got the 4.7 Dak.
