I plan on getting a tonneau cover but not sure what type. Any recommendations on a brand or type of cover?

I just got a Torza cover for my 03 QC and am pretty pleased so far. It held up well under the weight of 7" of snow on a recent hunting trip, it's waterproof with a good seal, and it comes off and installs VERY quickly. No stretching or anything to worry about in cold weather as it's on a fixed frame.. Just my $.02 but I'm pleased..

VERY happy with my LEER 700.

Never water inside, nice aerodynamic looks. Opens and closes very easily.

Lots of tonneaus around. I spent about half a year researching before I chose mine.

Good luck and enjoy the search,...Doc

I second the LEER 700 series. It's awesome. It mirrors the hood lines.

How much did that LEER 700 cost? It looks nice I might have to get one for my truck.

I have sent many e-mails to ALL the e-mail addys on the EXTANG site, They list a main one and several "zone" addys, inquiring about getting mine replaced under warrenty and absolutly no response, the even refuse to sign for "return receipt requested" letters I have sent them. Dammed if I'll ever buy another from them!

samtheman, the Torza cover I have comes off in less that 30sec. It folds up and can be put anywhere when you want to haul something above the rail. It has 5 support braces as part of it's aluminum frame. I'm excessively pleased with it and I was able to weasel my local Leonard guy down to $299.00. I searched for 3 months looking at more covers than I knew existed, and finally settled on the Torza.

Oh yeh, I wanted a hard cover. Searched Torzas to see what they were and at the first hit they were $279 (CarmicDirect I believe).

Yeah, I could find em online for that cheap and cheaper at some places, but I wanted a local dealer. Support the local economy, bla bla bla... Besides, they warranty it for life and keep any replacement parts right there on hand.

As for a hard cover I have no idea how you'll be able to haul something that is taller than the bed sides with one. The hydrolic lift ones aren't supposed to be driven in the up position, at least the ones I researched. Good luck thou, I feel your pain..

I highly recommend the Gemtop GT-classic, it's waterproof, doesn't hang over the side of the box, and is pretty much sits about a 1/2 inch higher than flush, looks sweet and works.

When I got my 2001 QC used it already has a snug-top hard top tonneau painted to match. it was on there so I don't know the cost. it looks nice and seems to seal well. tradeoff with the soft ones for vertical room, but it is very secure. It has a lock on both sides (same key obviously) which is annoying to me but maybe it's more secure than a single center lock.

Does anyone know what brand name tonneau covers that are available to fit with an over the rail bed liners? I don't want to remove my bed liner if i get a tonneau cover. I have yet to have seen one that fits with the bed liner that overlaps the bed rails or shoulders.

Thanks

My truck came with an hard cover and a soft cover. It has a bedliner. Both covers have an aluminum frame that clamps to the top of the bed rail with small c-clamps. The soft cover is a Truxedo. Not sure of the hard cover.

I have the lightbar/rail combo setup,so i've been searching for a hard tonno, that is truly flush mount and requires no drilling, don't want to damage my Lin-ex over the rail coating. My search has come down to the Fastback-II (expensive about $499 not including ship/handlg), it's offered @ a couple of sites - stylinconcepts.com and SportTruckSolutions.com. Unless there's something else out their someone knows about? This is what i'm saving my nickles & dimes for.

99 CC Sport 3.9,Flame Red, Auto,Homebrew intake,Flowmaster DF40 3/2.5 dual out,8.5mm msd superC,Jet 2 module,R/S 180 t-stat,b/w cap&rotor,put iat to airhat,accel E-super coil,optima red top, Apc euro corners,clear headlites,lund grill inserts,linex bedliner
