Just drive her the way you would normally drive. Don't baby it but don't horse it for a short time. Modern engines require very little break-in compared to the old days.

Pull out of dealership and mash the pedal to the far right all the way to the floor till the speed limiter cuts you off repeat daily till 3,000 miles that should do it.

Along with the above, hit speed bumbs as fast as you can, to make sure the brakes are working properly, dont gradually slow down, wait for the last minute and SLAM on the brakes, last but not least don't change the oil!

Jay don't worry it will be in your owners manual on how to break it in. It's not fun but I did it anyway, 'caus you never know!

Good luck!!

There are all kinds of ideas on breaking in an engine. Some say don't rev, others say drive the hell out of it. Personally I would go easy for the first 1000 miles or so, then do some hard driving for a day or two, then drive normally. On my 4.7 I drove relatively easy until 1000 miles, then had to take it on a 3800 mile cross-country trip. No problems. One thing I did notice was that it took a long time for all the ponies to come out of the barn and play. When new I couldn't chirp a tire to save my soul. By 7000 miles it was easier, and now at 20,000 it is very easy. You will probably find that as the engine breaks in it will begin to feel stronger and stronger, primarily above 3000 RPM.

Just pretend it is a NASCAR Truck racing truck.
Start it up and push the loud pedal for 100 mi while turning left.
Stop for a 15 second fuel and tire stop.
repeat for 500 mi.
all broke in.
Hell if it is good enough for a race machine why not yours??
