I have an A.R.E. LSII on my 99 dak. Got it when I got my new 99. Love it and have not had any trouble for 5 years. I am waiting for my new 2004 SLT+ to arrive any day, and I already ordered a new A.R.E. LSII cover for it. I reccomend completely.

I have a Z-Series on my 02 QC. I've been very happy with it. I've only had two minor problems: 1) about half of the lights went out in the center stop light; 2) the seals for the rear window were starting to peel off in the corners. Both problems were fixed under warranty. My only complaint would be that the screens for the rear side windows do not come out. This makes it very difficult to clean the inside of these windows.

I looked at ARE and Leer. Their prices are similiar, but the Leer seems to have a better finish and a better reputation.

I put a brand new ARE Z topper on my
'01 QC in May of 2002. Overall I have
been happy. but the buying experience was NOT good. The topper had 3 small paint defects from the factory. The dealer installed the topper and
'hoped' I wouldnt notice. I DID. So now I was faced with letting them remove and repair it.
Instead of 1 happy visit for the install, I would
have to return for a 2nd or 3rd visit. My time
and patience if valuable. I called ARE customer
service and explained the problem. They negotiated a 10% discount for the defect and I have lived with the problem. Second, the window
did not latch correctly on the left (driver side)
this was because of a hasty installation. The
dealer had to notice this when they did final checkout, but again, they must have hoped I wouldnt notice. I spent and hour of my own time
and shimmed and filed until it worked correctly.
Faster and better than returning to the imcompetent dealer. Lastly, about 1/2 of the LED
lites are burned out for the 3rd brake lite.
They failed 1 or 2 at a time. I need to get
them replaced, although my topper is now out of
warranty. Bottom line: I like the topper but
be very choosy of the dealer. Ask a lot of questions before you commit your money. On the
day you go for the installation, ask to perform
pre-installation inspection of your topper. This
would have saved me time and aggravation because
I would have made the dealer correct the defects
before I gave them final payment. Good Luck.

where are you from gregor?? your dealer should replace that led light for you under warranty, it is a law that it has to work. let me know if i can help you out. all in all they are a super company to deal with.tdwenzel@execpc.com

I liked mine so much that I transfered it off my 97 and put it on my 02. Gives the truck a very good look and its priceless to have in bad weather when your moving stuff.

just got back from dealer with new ARE impulse cap. looks great , only problem is i`m dissapointed with rear door. kinda flimsey. i think if i pull a little i can open it no problem when locked. i have the single handle but i tried to pull on a door with dual handles and door still bends in the middle.
