I have a 01 with 30,000 miles & am going to service the tranny. Does any one know often the spin on filter should be changed? I am doing both sump & spin on, just wondering how often to do spin on. Mike

I assume you are talking about the tranny on the 4.7L engine? If so, the spin on filter is replaced at 90K miles. When I went in for my 30K service, the dealer replaced both. When I showed them the service manual, they didn't charge me for the spin on filter. Still, 7 Qts of ATF+4 isn't cheap. I think my total was about $140.
