Message:
My girl friend had hit the brakes one day while we were on our way to six flags and the anti lock brakes kicked in. I want to know if there is a way to unlock them without having to go to a mechanic and paying extreme money to do it.
I want to know how i can do it myslef, is there a way to do that?

Message: On my 01, Quad, with the larger 11in rear drums, that if the you haven't adjusted the rears in a while, the front's do too much work, and kick in the anti lock feature, and really impede stopping.
A Rear anti locks, ae basically for morons, and soccer moms, who think all you do id push the pedal, no skill involved.
Back up to about 25mph, several times in a safe spot, and slam on the brakes, until the fronts lock, and it adjusts the rears.
Try it, you'll see, do it every week or two.

Message: Why would a properly functioning anti-lock system be a problem? I mean, I can see if you didn't want them, but if someone else is driving, and they aren't as skilled, or as familiar with the truck, those rear anti-locks can save your ass, especially when hauling around a wet or iced corner and the truck tries to swap ends. It doesn't take a moron to have this happen. Speaking of morons, anti-locks actually extend brake life, and the brakes automatically adjust in the rear by simply applying the brakes with a few routine driveway back-ups..nothing as drastic as slamming on the brakes. In fact, several brief applications do more than a slam. They only adjust when they're moving back and forth. Slamming them moves them once per slam. If you want to disable them, just pop the fuse.

Message: Saw another post where you state the brakes are actually LOCKED and the truck won't move. Hmmmm. I think I'd still pull the fuse, then bleed the brakes off to release any potential fluid pressure. If the anti-lock system has somehow jammed and will not release the pressure, this is the way I'd go. Then I'd look at the brake master cylinder for possible damage/malfunction. Sounds like a valve is jammed.
