I just bought a new 45RFE Valve body at a lost freight auction, the part number is 1- 05080732AA
I was wondering if there is any info on which models could use this unit. My research so far indicates that the transmission was used on Jeep Grand Cherokee and Some Dodge trucks. But in reading some of the messages on your post I realize there is a lot of different programing and options. I will be listing it on ebay shortly.

That is the same part number for the valvebody on a 2002 Dakota 45RFE. I suspect it's the same part regardless of the vehicle it's put into. Of course, this could have changed for later models.

Having the OD run off the second gear clutch pack too, gaining a "second " OD. This drops the rpms about 300.

Joe C.,

That's right!!!!!! It all seems like a lot of mumbo jumbo magic to me! Magic that works pretty damn good too!

I hate the sound of an auto, with loud, wooh, 'cat -backs'. They take off, and it sounds like the clutch is slipping all the time!

I'll most likely be looking into a replacemnet for my 01, 4.7, 5spd, yadda yadda soon.
With the 05, dak, with the hemi and the tremec 6!

Are you saying your looking for a Dodge Magnum? The only truck I know of that comes equipt with a T-6 is the SRT/10.

The D-body Dakotas will be useing a new 6 speed transmission but its not made by New Venture.

Also you can expect to loose 10 degrees of approch angel. Just like the Durango its got a soft suspension.

I'm thinking the same thing. The new Dakota will be more like a hybrid between a car and a truck.

I'll just stick with what I've got.

Well if you look at the 5 speed auto on the Nissan Titan its not really as short as you think.

The Titans auto is a .85 5th.

What does your dodge rev at 60? Mine is 1400.
