Okay, I guess it's time that the dealer check fuel pressure and CTS (coolant temp sensor).

Our truck sometimes will not start without extended cranking. Then sometimes it just kind of "chugs", barely running for a long period of time before it revs to normal R.P.M.s. Then sometimes it will idle at 800RPM and require a "blip" of teh throttle to bring it to the normal 600RPM.

I have noticed it sometimes seems it will start not during cranking but actually when the key is released from cranking position. I wonder if the recent recall for wiring chafing the clutch pedal mechanism is causing this?

I took it to the dealer and they charged me $137.00 for a PCM flash needed according to a TSB and told me I needed a new battery ($137.00 with labor), which failed draw check, and the throttle body cleaned ($85.00).

I Paid $85.00 for the Mopar battery at a competitors parts department, bought a throttle body gasket and thoroughly cleaned the throttle body, the idle air port and the end of the idle air control (IAC) motor, resetting the PCM as I did so by disconnecting the battery. Reassembled everything and the problem is still there.

Someone suggested low fuel pressure requiring fuel pump replacement was causing the same problem on their truck.

Another poster here suggested that a faulty temp sensor was causing the problem on a friend's truck after his friend went through nearly everything I have gone through, with six visits to teh dealer.

Is there anything else I should suggest the dealer check?
