Anyone know if it possible to install the factory alarm into a 2000 Dak with Keyless entry already on the truck?
If so How much and how hard.

And if not possible can an aftermarket alarm be integrated into my existing keyless entry fob?

Are you talking about EVSII or SKIS? That is the alarm that goes off if you break in or the immobilizer key?

I don't know. I think most alarms are worthless noise makers. Nobody bothers to care anymore because so many go off by just sneezing on them.

I'm planning on making something myself. And one idea is to build a circuit that will NOT let the truck start unless you push a hidden button first. I'll post my project when I do it. Should be very simple latch circuit that I could hide in the factory wire loom to either kill the starter or fuel pump.

As for a break in, I'd just like something that would alert me silently so I can catch the B@$tards once. I really HATE being ripped off. It's time for some pay back.

I really like the idea of a kill switch. I wouldn't think that it would be that hard to install one. You could probably even use one taken off from the fuse box. I don't really have to worry about my truck getting stollen but I do have a problem with all of my stereo equipment getting jacked. It happens all of the time around Christmas in AZ. If only I could rig a stun gun into my trucks system I could shock the crap out of an unsuspecting perp.

I believe the one for the 2000 DAK is Called Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) I believe this is just for break ins. Not an Immobilizer key

The one you order from the dealer is the EVSII. You order that and the wiring harness. I have one on both my Dodges. They work with the RKE and they have an ignition cut out.

And GraphiteDak is right about one thing. They do make noise. The last time it went off I had more than enough time to grab my 12 gauge and scare the sh!t out of my neighbors kid.

Jimmer...
So you can order the EVSII from the dealer!! What about the RKE? How much did it cost? And how easy is it to install? ...according to my service manual it seems like a bunch of relays to be replaced.....
I had an attempted break in on my Dak this weekend and I realized I only had the Keyless entry and not the alarm. So I was looking into an alarm that would integrate nicely into my existing system/fob. I know most alarms just make noise but my other car (95 Eagle Vision TSI) has the Factory alarm and when I hear it(Horn Blowing and Lights) I ALWAYS wake up...So I figured the Factory alarm on my DAK would sound the same And I would Wake up to the sound also. I need something to scare away these punks thats wont get me in trouble like a 44.
