The other day up here in the northeast we had a good sized snow storm. I was pulling into the driveway at my job, its on an incline and my rear wheels started spinning, so I put it into four wheel drive. As soon as I did the engine died. And a few times before in the past months occasionally when I put the truck into park the engine would stall also. Each time it happens there are no lights on the dash. Anybody know what would cause this? thanks

I have the same problem occasionally. When I put the truck in park (after stopping and with the engine idling) it stalls. I notice the tack drops below 500 for a short period and sometimes before it can raise back up it stalls. I'm hope I'm right by not worrying about it. Not sure about the 4WD thing. Don't get too many chances (unfortunately) to use it in south florida. Have a few time but it never stalled.

Thats what mine does!!! I've never driven a vehicle where the idle speed changes that much when putting it into park......It should barley change at all. These engines seem to have problems coping with changes in engine load or speed. Mine has stalled on occaison as well.

i jsut put a cold air intake on mine last night and the idle seems a little better (although it took the computer awhile to adjust for the new intake). The idle seems to be just a hair higher now (maybe 25 rpm)which I am hoping will remedy the situation.

I got the Airaid. Didn't know it wasn't a complete system to the air hat though. With this one you have to use the stock flex connector. I am going to replace that with some smooth tubing though to help. I disconnected the battery so the computer could adjust to the new intake (also for the exhaust I put on). Probably didn't need to but did anyway. It took about ten minutes. Had to keep some gas on it to keep it from stalling and slowy reduced the RPM until it would run by itself and then it was no problem. But it figured it out pretty quick. If I had to get a new intake, I would get the Quickd also.

Yea, I went with the Quickd for it's ease of installation and with my body lift, the K&N would have to have been modified to fit..thanks for your info...

on your stock flex connector to the air hat instead of tubing you might try 3 inch silicon ducting run inside of the flex connector. It just fits and has a smooth inner surface. P/n SIL-23. This is used as air duct. Requires approx. 8.25 inches. Spiral wrapped wire reinforced.

Thanks Doug, sounds like a plan. Where can you get the tubing?

got mine at premier rubber and supply. might look under automotive or truck suppliers. the only thing to keep in mind is that the ducting needs to be cut square across the reinforcing wire. cost me $11.24 for 1 foot.
