i'm going to purchase a dak very soon. i'm planning on buying used because i've found them much cheaper than new ones. i was wondering how much higher mileage comes into play in performance and maintenance costs. really, around what mileage will the dak start to lose it's touch? i have a ford probe and it's got 130K ok it and all have i'd had to do is replace the clutch. any info will help. thanks.

It really depends on how the vehicle was maintained.

If you are looking for a 4.7 truck, it may help to test drive a few new ones so you have a good idea how the engine is supposed to feel. After you test drive a few of the older ones, look for the normal issues when buying used vehicles.

On the any Dak check under the passenger side carpet for rust (many have a leak here) and on Gen III's, make sure your front ball joints and berings are in order.
