Who said I was going to put street tires on it?? All Terrain on 17" R/T rims is what I want. I bought my Dak 4X4, because of the snow we get in my area. I never go off-roading.
Why did DC put 20" rims with street tires on the 4X4 Ram??

I'll tell ya why, because Rams are much bigger than Dakotas!!! Ever look at the two of them side by side, there's no comparison. I don't care if DC offers 22" rims stock on Rams, we're talking about Dakotas here!!
Oh and good luck finding All Terain tires for 17x9" wheels. If you don't believe me, go to tirerack.com, enter Dakota 4x4, click optional 17", then check All Terain tires...
I gaurantee you there will be no tires available!!! hahaha

Who ever said everyone has to buy there tires from tirerack.com? Almost every tire manufactuer now has tires that fit on 17's anywayz so I don't think he wil have a problem finding tires. I wish I had 17" rims on my Dak.

At tirerack there is afew tires all-terrain that fit a 17X9 rim. The one I'm looking at is Yoko Geolanders A/T 275/65/17 they're a hair bigger than the 275/60/17 that come on the Durango R/T.
Now the next question is, white or black lettering on the outside of the tire??

A tire that is 31 inches tall on a 15 inch rim is still a 31 in tall tire on a 17 in rim , it just has less sidewall height on the bigger rim.
So , why would they rub if they were 31 or even 33 inches tall if you had a bodylift???

I have 265/65/17s on my 97 4X4 (04 landcruiser tires) on RT rims. They dont rub and I like the way it looks.
Now when the rims had the 255/55/17 tires it looked stupid as hell.

The stock tires on my Dak are the Goodyear 265/70/16 which measure 30.8" in height, the Yoko Geo A/T 275/65/17 measure 31.3" in height which works out great. So rubbing wouldn't be an issue.

Let me prove your sorry ass wrong again.. I have a 2000 Dakota 4x4 with 31x10.5x15 A/T tires on 15x8 rims (for idiots like FORD, they're actually only 30.5" tall)..
I just went outside and measured the space between the tire and the corner of the front bumper when turning, there is .9" of space.. If you're puting 31.3" tires on, well that would be another .8" inches (about the same length as FORD's pencil dick)..
So now you're looking at .1" of space (you did learn how to subtract in school right FORD?).. Let's not forget you're using 17x9" wheels, so that's about an extra .5" inches of width on each side..
No rubbing issues???.. Think again my friend.. And even if you don't rub, during a storm with 12+ inches of snow on the ground, why would you want to be that close?
In any case, even after all that.. R/T rims on a Dakota 4x4 still looks retarded!!!

I'm waiting on a friend for these R/T rims if everything goes right I'll have them next spring. Still don't know if I'll be keeping them or selling them. Come on guys I want to see some more pics!!!!

As for only .9" clearence of space, I suggest cranking your torsion bars alittle bit. I did mine in the summer so my Dak sits level with lots of clearence.
