Subject: Inner tie rods ends 99 4WD

Message:
I found out at the alignment shop that my inner tie rod ends need replacing. I have 72,000 miles and I've put 'em through some mild offroading. He quoted me $150 for the two (Moog I think). $60 to replace, and $60 to align. Can I order the same parts for cheaper? I checked Summit, can't find 'em. I know shops love it when you show up a few days later with your own parts. hahaha

Thanks

Not that you can always trust online listings, but rockauto.com shows the inners at about $28 each. Shows inners are same for 2WD and 4 WD, while outers are different (4WD even has different left and right outers, about $47 each). They have fast shipping, but shipping cost will add another $10 or so...

Well I called them up and the lady said they only carry ones for 2WD. Can anyone verify they are the same for 4WD?

Well, I have two bad ball joints in my 2WD '99 and wanted to convert everything over to MOOG parts that I could grease. Looked up the parts at Rock Auto, ordered, and when I looked under the truck this past weekend to compare new parts with old, found out I only have outer tie rods and no inner (rack and pinion)! Going to have to RMA the inners, but I am wondering which 2WD have inners??? Hope you get your 4WD problems resolved.
