 Subject: radio gargle sound

I went on a 300 mile trip today. First time out in the rain since I bought my 2002 v6 club. Had the radio on and the windshield wipers on intermittent. When the wipers would go to the bottom position and pause I would get a noise coming from the radio that sounded like a washing machine swishing water around in the tub. The noise lasted the same time length as the pause. Has anyone ever heard of or had a problem like this before? If anyone knows what the fix for this water gargle sound is I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks
