I have a water leak on my Passenger floor boad, It comes in from real high up on the firwall. In fact I think the point of entry is higher than the condensate drain. Can anybody please help me?? I can't figure out where it is coming from. I love my truck and hate to see this.

Jonathan,

A simple "search first" would have found the information you are looking for. See the attached thread:

I have a 1997 Dakota 4X4 extended cab. I have this stupid water leak since I bought it in 1997. I took it to the deal 10 times for this issue. They could never get it to leak at the dealer. It only leaks when it sits out in the rain. I have the passenger carpet pulled up all the time now. I did find out where in comes in though. I to thought it was comming in around the firewall but actually it comes in around the rear window and runs down the the back of the cab and pools on the front passenger side floor. How to check for the leak around the rear window is first if you have an extended cab remove all the jack stuff under the rear seat and look for moisture. The problem is a poor weling job around the rear window shhet metal. Now of course the truck is way out of warranty they will fix it for a price. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

dave your problem is a rare one. the one everyone else is refering too is one that seemingly every newer dak has. Do a search and you'll find some info on how to fix it, or some well written letters to show to the dealer. I personally took mine in and they knew exactly what the problem was, and fixed it and replaced the carpet.
