 Subject: alternator

My 95 dakota has been giving a low volt reading in the mornings with the blower on high when the truck is stopped at a light.During driving the volt reading goes back up to normal.My question is do I have a bad alternator or is there an external regulator or the dealer said sometimes the regulating is done by the computer.They want 75 bucks just to test the system.Anyone have any insight on the subjuct.Thanks.Andy

Have a local auto parts store test your alternator.
