help! My 97 dodge dakota sport has a vibration, We have changed & rotated tires,changed driveshaft,shimmed rearend,balanced driveshaft,changed universals.......vibration is still there! Can anyone help???

My 96 Dakota Sport had a bad vibration. It felt as if the whole vehicle was shuddering at around 45-50 mph. I found out that my rear drum brakes were dragging slightly due to over adjustment. I replaced everything (drums, pads, springs, cylinders) on them but still couldn't keep the brakes from over-adjusting. I'd loosen them up, but in a week or so they would be dragging again. So I removed the self-adjuster arm & cable. No more vibration!!!
I'm still totally perplexed as to why the brakes over-tighten. I noticed that it would happen mainly if I would slowly back-up and have to drag the brakes, like in getting out of a tight parking spot. If anyone can help, please let me know. I've worked on cars for quite a while and never seen this problem.

does it still have factory exhaust system?, if so it could be muffler, i have a 97 rc 3.9 had a vibration from the day i got it, dealer never could find it, it would start at the time trans convertor went in to lock up mode abbout 45 mph, it was not real bad but it drove me nuts, i put a dynomax cat back exhaust system on it and the vibration never came back. funney thing is my wife has a 2000 rc just like mine But on the front of the muffler it has a weight hooked to it and no vibration. i think dodge figured out the problem and fixed it but won't admit it
