Any advice for a new automatic transmission in a 5.2L? Install tips, fluid recommendations, add-ons, what to do, what not to do?

I bought a rebuilt transmission and am getting ready to install it. I have read some stuff about installing a transmission cooler, but I don't know if that's what I need in a 92? I am also wondering if that amsoil is that much better, and where I would get it?

Ok, what type of auto is it? A RH or a RE series?

If you knew at installing transmissions, then just get a Tranny tech to install it for you. They can be a pain in the @ss to install.

Are you talking about the powershift fuild? I use Valveline AFT. And it works good enough for me. Also a container of Lucus keeps it from shifting harsh or getting stuck in a gear.

What modle truck you got. I know that some B-body ( 95-98)Dakotas were fitted with new a newer type auto. 42RE. Also, I don't think a 46 RH or even a 44 RH would fit.
