OK, I'm looking for a little advice here. I was running my truck through some puddles (I know not the brightest thing to do); when going through the last one, my truck bogged down and coasted to a stop (still in gear). When I got the truck to the side of the road, it would not start. I let it sit for a few minutes and tried again, it turned over, idled good then shut off after a few seconds. I've disconnected all the electrical plugs in the system and got all the water out that I could see then tried again with the same results, only I realized that I can smell gas. Right now the truck is going to sit over night with all the plugs disconnected to see if all the water will evaporate/drain out. If this does not work, does anyone have any ideas?

My truck is a 98 Dakota with a 2.5L 4cyl manual transmission with MSD 6A ignition and a custom intake.

I'm pretty sure that there is no water in the motor because it does idle correctly at round 1,000 RPM's. Any advice that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
