Ok, so I've committed the cardinal sin of dissassembling my front-end and forgetting a how one part reassembles. I'm guilty, no need to flame me because a dissassembled truck is punishment enough.

So I'm first and foremost confused. What provides the 'spring' for the front end? What appears to me to be a sway bar, or what appears to be the 'track' bar?

The core of the problem: I'm concerned that I don't have the 'track' bar in the right position on both ends, one the A-arm, one the binder on the frame. I do notice a notch on each end, is that for relative positioning? If so, how does it line up on each end?

It is a pain to reposition, so I want it right before assemble both sides and remove it from the jack stands.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think that just as long as the torsion bar is retained in the adjuster and the lower controll arm it should be OK. I'm not 100% sure though. I will look at my 97 4x4 and look at the manuel when I get home but I wont be able to post anything untill tomorow morning.

Just as long as both sides have the same amount of pre-load and your ride height is OK, thats all there is to it.

I'll make sure both sides are the same. I'm wanting to be sure to get this right before I remove the jack stands, so I don't have to work it over again...so I guess I'm just hesitant to put it together and see what happens.

Oh yes, so on the adjuster, I understand that I'll just take my impact and put the hurt to it until with will go no further, or would there be a torque spec? I have a 420 ft/lb impact.

Thanks Tim.
