Message:
I have Dodge Dakota 1997 3.9L 2WD. My original Transmission Fail with 39k. I buy use one from parts yard with 25k. Transmission makes whining noise from 0-25 Mph (noise gun after transmission shift to 3rd gear.) Long story short. I try three different transmissions still has same problem. After I replace PCM but problem still same. Now I gut transmission with 2K. Local Dodge dealer told me this is planetary. It's not passable four transmissions with same problem. I cleaned cooler and lines, replaced drain back valve in pressure line. Please Help?

Whining in the transmission??? My old lady must be in your trannies. :-)
You have auto transmission? Are you sure it is in the transmission? I have the same whining noise at 15 to 30 mph but it is in the rear end. I can only tell it is the rear end when the rear slider is open. When rear window is closed, it sounds more like the tranny.
