I know this subject has been beaten to death but I have had it with these stock goodyear tires going to bfg. I have a stock 4wd 2001 quad cab looking to get a larger tire on stock 16x8 wheels. I have the torsion bars adjusted up slightly. Does any one have these sizes on their truck 285/75/16 or 275/70/16, and are there any issues with rubbing any where. If at all possible if you have a picture could you please post. thank you. goodyears great for mileage lousy or traction.

I have a 01 Dak 4x4 CC and I'm running BFG A/T.
265-70-16 and no rubbing or problems. I won't go
any bigger. You don't want to mess around with fender triming.
I love my BFG tires. great performance on or off the road. I live in the Mojave desert, so I can not speak of any snow traction. The tire works great in deep blow sand or hard packed gravel roads. How-ever they do tend to pick up more than their share of small rocks, but that really is not a huge problem.
just my 2 cents from an old desert rat.

Go with 265-70-16, trust me on this one. :-)

Good Luck,
KINDIG

that is the size that came stock on my 03, 4x4. I want to go up a size to a 265/75/16 or bigger if i can. i have crancked the torsion bars about an inch and it looks like i have plenty of room in height but i'm not sure about width. I dont have a body lift and don't have the $$$$ for a suspension lift.

OK, go for it. the 265-75-16 would probably fit.
But don't forget about articulation, most important if you do any off-roading.
Hey, listen. I read somewhere that with the Dak's front diff you should not go any bigger than a 31 inch tire. I think the 265-75-16 is a bit larger than 31 inches. I also read on the Mickey thompson's web-site, you might have to do some fender trimming. Heck, I really don't know, except what I read now and then
But with my BFG a/t 265-70-16 the tires almost rub when I turn the wheel all the way.

All said... I would go with the 265-75-16 if I were you. Good Luck Dude!

I just bought the 275/70/R16 Pirelli Scorpion AT for Sears. There is no rub so far and they look great. These were the cheapest All-Terrain tires I could find in this size. I was charged $603.53 for 5 of them (5th one was for the spare). That price included the tires, new valve stems, mounting and balancing and the disposal costs of the old tires. ended up being about $126.00 per tire for everything. I think thats a great prcie.
