Subject: A "bad" leak?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2000 v8 Dodge Dakota 4x4 A few days ago I noticed fluid leaking out of the rear of my engine area after eating dinner. I have since noticed it is dripping from a small open pipe that comes out of the passenger side near the fire wall (near where the heatercore would be). It drips pretty good sometimes right when i start it or after driving, the fluid is hitting the hot pipe below causing a hissing noise. Anyways, I think it may be connected to my heater/heatercore because it tends to drip when using the heater. I showed it to a Dodge mechanic and he said since it's a clear fluid it's only condinsation. THAT'S A LOT OF CONDINSATION if u ask me. Anyone had this problem or know what else it may be? I think i might take it back in. I've been noticing my fluid was down a bit but the dripping fluid is clear/water like. My window is not fogging on the inside and I have no anitfreeze smell. Can anyone help/suggestions?

Also, how long do shocks generally last? Mine seem great at almost 40,000 miles, but should I start thinking about getting them switched?

what you see dripping out of the little open pipe from the firewall is condensation from your HVAC housing(which is the a/c). nothing unusual. you dont have a problem. im a DC Tech so dont worry.

Look under passenger side carpet for water, those AC drains are notorios for leaking inside cab.

You don't have a problem. Mine does that. I live in Deep South FL, run that A/C virtually year round and it drips and hisses, drips and hisses.....

About your shocks, I'm at 37K and mine are fine. I wouldn't change them until it's necessary.
