Message: Hey Wilton, I used to live in Homestead back in the early 80's. What area of Homestead do you live?
Still was sitting at $2.39 at one station here in Lexington KY this morning when I came into work. I know it's not at that price now, but I'll find out for sure on the way home.

Message: Craig has a clue - he posted this:
"We're getting screwed right now by oil speculators is all that is happening."
For those of you who are suffering from the misconception that OPEC is controlling prices or that US oil companies are engaged in some sort of price fixing conspiracy, perhaps a little education is in order.
If you don't understand what futures trading is, click on this link and read:
ABOUT COMMODITY TRADING
Once you've read that then maybe you will understand why wholesale gas and oil prices actually dropped on Friday at a time when the evil conspirators had every excuse to raise prices.

I'm not defending OPEC, the Saudis, or Big Oil, but they are making money legally, and the only way we can affect that is by consuming less. Lower demand = lower prices.

Message: Another thing you Saudi-bashers need to realize is that the reason we continue to support the royal family is that they are just as worried about the radical fundamentalists coming to power as we are - which is exactly what would happen if free elections were held there. Again, not defending anyone, just stating what is.

Message: I just heard on the radio up here in Fredericton New Brunswick - Canada that price went to $1.17/ liter which translates to $4.42/American gallon, Cdn funds. I think that would be around $3.85/gal in American funds. I was in Bangor, Maine last week and the price was $2.89/gal.
