 Subject: 02 water woes

Narrowing down the cause of the water that accumulates on the passenger side floor of my 2002 dakota sport..Yesterday the ac tech at the dodge shop ruled out the ac as the culprit...I brought the truck in today as their trim specialist was gonna take over tomorrow and try to find a leak...well...I tried to find the root cause myself today.I pulled the carpet way back on the passenger side and drove around with the air on full tilt for about a 1/2 hour in the heat of the day..when i left home , the floor was dry..when I got to the dodge dealers..sure enuf...some water had trickled downfrom under the mat inside the truck..along the firewall and had made its way along the door edge....within minutes..water started pooling in the centre of the floor on the passenger side..every one in the shop was scratching their heads..Now I am no genius but seem to think that somehow water is getting trapped behind the heat shield fastened to the fire wall......tomorrow they should know for sure..I made sure to bring the service tech over and show him so they dont go trying to tear out my back window and reseal it or something...regardless..it should be ready tomorrow nite..and i will keep you's posted as it is a topic of interest here
