just about every gas station is out,i had to put in 5 gallons of sunoco race unleaded in be enough to go to work 1 week,anyone in phx need fuel you better stock up it could be 2 weeks before gets to normal

It's BECAUSE 'everybody and their brother' is making a RUN on the gas stations --
SURE the pipeline did break, but they've also clearly stated on several news stations that there IS enough gas, and the pipeline deficiency IS being caught-up by using more tankers.
STILL people are running to the stations and filling up when they normally wouldn't, and several are filling large tanks in the backs of pickups thinking 'they won't get any'!
All this only makes things worse. If everyone would just buy gas normally (as they always have) there wouldn't even BE a problem!

I have a question for all you guys that live in the Phoenix area:
Do you remember about 2 months ago.... a couple of refineries were shut down in California and it caused a big price gouging problem with gas? Do you remember the story they were spewing then? The media reported that all of the "special" oxygenated fuel that we use here in the valley was made in the California refineries. My question is - how is it that a slow-down of fuel from Tucson and the Texas refineries can have such an impact on us? Isn't all our fuel supposed to be made in California?

Remember right before we went to war and the price of gas went thhrough the roof all across the country because "the price of a barrel of oil went up?"
Did anyone notice how the price of oil in bottles on the shelf at Pep Boys, etc stayed exactly the same the whole way through that period, and it's the same today as it was a year ago?
Um.... somebody's getting rich indeed.

Most of the fuel in PHX comes from a pipline from tucson.......the pipe line from LA feeds most of the rest on AZ....yeah it is bad cause people are filling up all of their gas cans, on top of their 3 vehicles they prolley own. but it is much worse than just a 30% loss.... I would say we are only getting 30% sent to PHX and we are out 70%....the other day I waited for 2 hours to get gas....I waited in a line of about forty cars, all wanting gas...we are dealing with price gauging (I paid $2.22 cents a gallon) and another reason that things are moving so slow is because there isnt any back pressure on alot of these pumps right now, so it is taking twice as long to pump than it normally would....theres the scoop.
