Subject: Is it normal to sag on drivers' side?
IP: Logged

I am nearing completion of my suspension lift and shackle lift on my 97 Dakota. I hadn't paid attention before, but I noticed that the drivers' side was about 1/2 inch lower than the passengers' side. Take into account that the truck has 119000 miles on it and I have a full 22 gallon fuel tank, which is on the drivers' side. Is this normal or should I start un-installing suspension components to see where I screwed up?

Normal. When I lowered my '92 with spring steel plates in the rear, I used one 1/4" plate extra on the right side. My '01 has the same problem, but I've lived with it so far. Hey, Ferds and Chebbies are the same way...

Thanks for the info. I am relieved that I probably didn't screw anything up. This is my first experience doing any suspension work other than swapping out shocks or struts. I thought it was somewhat normal, but I wanted to ask those who have more experience than me, or who have owned pickups longer than I have [6 months].

thanks!
