Subject: 93 Dakota won't start
IP: Logged

Message:
Greetings...I have a 93 Dakota that won't start. I drove home from work one day and the next day it wouldn't start. Checked everything and found no fuel to carb. Friend of mine told me most likely fuel pump.

We replaced it, but it still wouldn't start(no fuel). Removed feed hose from filter and cranked engine...dry. Checked voltage at pump connection harness, showed 12V, 9V and .2V...Assumed 12V was power feed, 9V was gauge sending unit and .2V was gauge return.

Should I assume the new pump is bad or is there something else that can stop fuel flow???

Thanks in advance...

Another thing...I was going to check the codes, but the check engine light doesn't turn on at all, even when cranking...

Try the fuel pump relay fuse located in the engine compartment on the drivers side by the battery it may have gone bad

Thanks 1flamed92dak...

BUT, if the relay is bad, could you still get proper voltage at the harness connection? I did try swapping the pump relay with the AC relay(had same partnumbers stamped on top) with no good results...

try your ignition switch . does it crank and not fire. no fuel should be in the throttle body. could be your coil pack.
