 Subject: slight grinding sound....tcase suspected

Truck- 98 4x4 5.2 5spd np231HD 9.25 rear
Startind from a stop or goin slow there is a slight grinding sound. It doesnt happen right away, like a sec or 2 after it gets rollin. Happens startin out in 1st or second. That is the only time i hear any bad sounds, none at any other speed or gears.
Did a little searching of old posts-
-Bearing in tcase may be bad, causing one of the input/ouput shafts to rub on the housing.
-something causing the tcase to try to engage.
Anyone else have a problem like this, or have any idea whats wrong?
