what do the extremes have in them anyways? anyone know? i raced an extreme SUV with my v6. I got wires plugs intake, exaust and a few other very basic goodies, i was in disbelief. I wont even get into the story about the frigan pontiac vibe. hahahahahahahaha

come with just the same ol 4.3l v6 that all the other s10s come with nothing special, and the standard ones come with the 4cyl,, you cant get the 4.3 in a 5 speed,

What about that jazed up ranger thats out now. Dumbest thing I think Ive ever seen. All it is is a regular ranger with a tonneau, a dual tiped exh pipe, a few stickers (that look hideous by the way), and a cheep looking plastic body kit.
From what Ive seen, and unless you can convince me otherwise, I think these trucks are crap. You cant be fast by only looking it! Later

Uhh, I think they call it a Ranger SVT..He he, that's a Lightning or Cobra Motor from what I understand.
I wouldn't race him just yet

No, there is no lightning or cobra motor in them, Just a NONE FUNCTIONAL hood scoop, cat-back exhaust and a few extra body kit goodies. A real lack of performance if u ask me. especially if it says svt on it. If u don't believe me read in Poplular Mechanics in the April month I think, they have it in there with some other new vehicles. And it's just a regular 4.0L in the Ranger SVT!

And the extremes with the 4 banger are nothing to worry about, that also goes with the 4.3 auto unless some serious mods are done. The only one to really worry about is the 4.3 manual, WITH mods, but the majority of extremes you see are 4 bangers with single trek rear-ends. My best friends brother in-law has one and I think it just lacks power to go with that street truck look.

In all honesty I think the S-10 Extreme is a pretty sharp looking truck. Not a good choice if you're into racing, but a good looking ride, IMO.
I love my Dodge, but I'm not so elitist about it that I can't admit that another brand makes a nice ride.

I love it. It's the 3" system & I really didn't notice much difference in performance or mileage, but it sounds sweet.
Nice throaty rumble when you're on the gas but pretty quiet at cruising speed. Nice for long trips & listening to the radio.

I agree that the Xtremes are nice looking trucks and suvs. Ive seen plenty around that Id drive for sure. But they do lack alittle on the perf. side.
As for the ranger, its just a joke. Ford had to do something to fill the "muscle" smaller truck market. but it was a poor attempt. You ever sen one?
and to ben, the ALL knowing plastic man, thanks for the help. I thought body kits were made outa wood or some sheet metal or maybe some type of extra stiff 007 james bond rubber. right! Look, dont shoot your mouth off again like you know something. dickhead...

oh I messed up, it's not even an SVT Ranger, it's a ranger made by the company that made SS camaros and the sister car modifed firebird, so it's not a bad name for SVT, but it is a company thats married to chevy almost and if you read the article in Popular Mechanics it mentions little gains in horsepower but for the chevy blazer, go figure a 30 horsepower gain with all the body kit goodies. So if the fords want to compete, they should have SVT make a sport's truck for them and not let a GM company do it for them.

if you guys are talking abotu the SVT ranger I hope you know it has the lightning motor and runs 13s in the qt mine. Its also not available yet. I did see some ugly wanna be Xtreme ranger so mabey thats it. It sure wasnt fast.
As fro the Xtreme I think they are great looking and handling trucks. Totally reminds me of my old Syclone. Performance wise its nothing that a 2000$ vortec supercharger cant cure

joe im gonna punch u, ur a disgrace to all dakotas. as for the extremes, i only like the extreme blazer, looks really good, and the 4.3L with a 5spd isnt a bad start. as stated previously, a supercharger and mods like headers, catback will make em rear tires smoke. and u still have room in the back for a few subs. "maaa that guy really got under my skin" what are u ? some kind of idiot?

sh!t. So dont even start. I made a simple statement about one of the "tricked out" rangers I saw on a dealship lot. Was not impressed at all. So you come back with some "i guess u know a company that makes steel body kits ya bastard" and your wondering why im got alittle ticked? WTF man. All i did was make a simple statement that expresses my thoughts. You come back with some BS. But what ever, no more talk about it.
The ranger I saw was identical to regular rangers with the exception of a cat back exhaust and some plastic body stuff. The dealer told me it was a regular V6 and stock running gear. So I thought poser. Now if in the future they are gonna come out with a ranger with a lighting's innerds, then thats gonna be a killer. But as far as what I have seen so far, its a dud...
