Today, I was talking to a co-worker and he told me that he read an article that said bad things about intakes like airaid. It said that being behind the fan they suck up air that has experienced turbulance or in other words, they dont take in "smooth air" they take in rough air. Is this true?

Its true but the filters them self K&N for example are designed to smooth out the turbulance and the rest of the intake is super smooth that by the time the air reaches the throttle body there is a lot of smooth flowing air with no turbulance. Anything is better then the stock system. I put a K&N on my 5.9 and got way better gas milage and noticable preformance. The stock system is crap. Take it off.

I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INTAKES ON PREVIOUS VEHICLES
AND HAVE FOUND THE VORTEC SYSTEMS TO BE THE BEST POWER PROVIDERS. THE K&N FILTERS ALLOW TOO LITTLE ASPIRATION AND AS A RESULT FACTORY THROTTLE BODIES AND INJECTIONS SYSTEMS DO NOT REACT TO THE NEW AIR FUEL MIX.!!!HAS ANYONE HAD ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THE MOPAR INTAKE KIT FOR THE DAKOTA? AS WELL HALTECH IS WORKING ON A PIGGY-BACK MASS-AIR FLOW BASED COLD AIR THAT CONTROLS FRESH AIR /FUEL MIXTURES ACTIVELY....AS OPPOSED TO THE COMPUTER ATTEMPTING TO REACT BASED ON A READING IN THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!WWWAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY
TO LATE TO UPDATE THROTTLE RESPONSES. HALTECH'S SYSTEM ON MY Z-O6 VETTE NET +/- 20 HP AND IT HAS ENHANCED FUEL MANAGEMENT AND IMPROVED FULL-ON THROTTLE RESPONSIVENESS!!!!! I WOULD ENJOY SOME FEEDBACK ON HOW TO IMPROVE THROTTLE RESPONSE AND UPDATES ON HOW TO UPGRADE IGNITION SYSTEMS TO MAXIMIZE CURRENT PERFORMANCE...
