Go get a Chevy Silverado. nearly the same price and twice the truck. Mileage better too unless you are planning on getting the 6. The Dakoda will not pull a trailer over 4800 pounds. My Tahoe pulls my 7000pound trailer and still gets around 15 to 16 in town 9 miles each way th work and over 18 on the highway. Better than the Dakoda I have for a company truck.

Donny is right... that thing pulls our trailer from lot to lot each night. Soon we will be able to get a dakota when he gets promoted at the Burger King... until then, i am gonna have to keep dancin' on them tables. If my fat ass doesnt break another one like last month, we will be able to afford a double wide in three months..

now donny leave them dodge boys alone and go call the KOA and ask for directions!

love,
your wife

Hey Don, you need to quit getting your Information off of Cracker Jack boxes.

It is completely wrong, My Dakota has a V-8, and I get 17 mpg City and 22 mpg Highway. I also have a Trailer tow rating of 6,450#'s (more than that bogus 4,000#'s you posted above and only a little less than your 7,000# Chuby rating). And cost about the same, man you are very wrong there. The Silverado with the same options and equivalant power plant as my Dakota is $32,335.00, granted that is a 2003 and mine is a 2002, but I only payed $21,523.00 for mine after a $1,500 rebate.

And I have lined up next to a whole bunch of the Sh!talrados, before and after I did some Mods to my Dak, and I have not been beat by even 1 yet.

Now I don't like posting info that I can't back up, so I will post also the window sticker that came in My Dak. (since I noticed you don't have any hard core facts to post) You will notice in the options catagory, the only thing I didn't get was a Power seat on the passengerside, and the overhead Computer, I CUSTOM ordered this truck and had it delivered to Germany for the price you see.

Here is the Window Sticker Halves, I left out some sensative info. Sorry.

So Sam the Man, No it's not to late to go order your Dak.

Yes, you are wrong. 5350#'s is the vehicles available gross weight all by it self. That means the truck + on-board Pay Load = 5,350#'s so in real numbers (truck weight) 3,910#'s + (pay load (notice 3/4's of a ton)) 1,440#'s (truck Gross, not to include a trailer also, at up to 6,450#'s) = 5,350#'s.

Not much different than that $32,335 Chuby.

Later,

Lynn
