I know this has been asked before, but I'm wondering what people are getting in their 4.7 V8 Dakotas? I currently have a '98 CC 2wd V6 5spd with a 3.21 rear end, and am looking for a bit more power. I average 19-20mpg in "spirited driving", and am thinking about a new '01 4x4 CC V8 5spd with the 3.55 and 16" wheels & tires. Anyone have this or a similar combo? What's your mileage? Mileage isn't a big deal, but I'd like to know what I'm getting into!

My brother has a 2001 Quad Cab with a 4.7 and automatic and is averageing between 18 and 21. I have heard people say that with a 5-spd. they are getting as much as 25 m.p.g.!

Mine's way too early to tell, 395 miles as of today. I got 15.1 on the first tank with 277 miles. It's a 01 Quad Cab 2wd with the 4.7 /auto and 3.92 LSD rear end. Got the 255/65R16 Goodyear LS's as well. There was a lot of heavy foot in that tank. 118 miles on this tank and it's just barely under 3/4's. My foot is getting a little lighter.

Mine's a 2000 CC 4.7L 4X4 3.55 auto. I average 13.8 in the city, 17-17.5 highway, running 70-75 mph.
