Mike,

I run the Powerdyne on my '97 V6 and the 180 T'Stat (with Autolite 3923 spark plugs) is the way to go. The 160 may be too cold and could possibly trip the MIL (Check engine light).

If you ordered it from Marty (KRC) his kits are already modified to fit the V6. (Excellent kit as well.) :)

You may want to watch out for running rich with the 24# injectors. I have a box waiting to go on until my IAT arrives so I can tweak the A/F mixture.

If you're just running the 6# boost, the factory injectors work just fine. Once you decide to go with the 9# pulley (which works VERY well on the V6's), then you'll need the 24# injectors. They don't run too rich at idle at all but as Shawn mentioned, the IAT Adjuster is a good way to fine tune the fuel delivery.

Definitely install the 180 T'Stat and get reary to run Super Unleaded.

On the Cat, I replaced mine with a Car-Sound 3-Way (OBD-II Compliant) HighFlow from KRC Performance. It's a little bit louder than the stock Cat but really woke up the performance as well (mid-top end). Do you have a modified TB on the truck yet? (I highly recommend either a stock V8 TB for the 6# boost.)

I had tested mine without the cat while waiting for the Car-Sound Cat to arrive. Way too loud and a loss on bottom-end performance. Not worth it on the V6. If you do anything at all, get a Car-Sound cat from Marty at KRC Performance. (Just tell him the same one as mine.)

If you're just going to be running the 6# boost, no...you won't need the 24# injectors. The reason for the Super Unleaded is to control detonation. This is caused by the higher cylinder pressures due to the supercharging. You can run a can of octane booster with your favorite fuel but that winds up costing more than Super Unleaded. (Try 89 and go from there...if it "pings" under boost, up the fuel to the next grade higher.)

Enough to really slow down the acceleration from idle to about 2500rpm. The mid to top-end was slightly better, but I didn't notice any performance degradation after the Car-Sound HighFlow Cat was installed. (Actually runs better with than without.)

If you need a decent TB, i've got a spare V8 TB sitting in my garage. Email me privately for more details: bernd@texas.net

bernd did you ever run at 9psi. Also the only mods to the kit is a 2 inch cut off the air tube.

I'm actually running a custom 7-rib pulley and can hit 10# at 4800rpm. (I shift at 5100.) :)

With the 6# (factory) pulley, you really don't need to do a whole lot at all. With the 9# pulley, definitely get 24# injectors for the V6.

For a normally asprited V6, 50mm is just a hair too big (bottom end loss). For a Supercharged V6 with 9# boost, it's perfect.

BTW: The factory V8 TB's are 48mm (Also perfect size for a V6.)

Anyone with a 2wd RC running a supercharger on their 6er?
Bernd, with the right setup (Superchips controller and injectors) can you make the truck air/fuel ratio good at 10#. That running rich/lean stuff sounds scary!

Stock compression on all the Magnum engines is 9.1:1. The 11.xx - 12.xx is the A/F ratio.

Just a quick note. I'm not sure if it has always been that way, but the specs on the 5.9L say it uses an 8.9:1 compression ratio.

The 2001 (at least according to Dodge's website) is 8.9. Also, it looks like the 2.5L i4 (if anyone would actually get that) is 9.2:1. The site may be wrong, but if so someone should let them know so they can fix it.

What should the A/F ratio be under normal conditions like stock for instance.
