Bob,
I just reread your old post on this thread and cant figure you out. Did you donate the money only to get something in return? How much did you donate? You can become a memeber for only like $30 which isnt much at all. I donated $20 and for just $10 more, I could have been a member. Dont ask me what I was thinking on not becoming a member for only a bit more money. I am over it though. That money, its gone forget about it. If you want to become a member just give him the $30 and be done with it. Its not like it was stolen or anything, it was given to a good cause(the best dakota site on the web!). All I am saying is get over it.

Wow.. good responce by andrew. Well said :-)
I can see where bob is comming from but the thing is it was a donation not a payment. Sometimes companies will let you put your donation towards a payment.. But that's usually on LARGE companies who are taking donations for another cause.. example: Mark taking a donation for the "Cloth the dogs fund" *don't ask I just made that up* and then letting you put what ever you donated to that fund towards your membership.

Hey.. I just thought it was amusing.. and was curious if you were still around.. I'm not pissed w/ anyone or think that anyone was out of line.. I was just going threw REALLY!! old posts and thought this was a amusing topic and I'm glad Mark delt with it the way he did... *how ever that was*

I think I do know most of the details.. This board was just getting to be the way it is now.. There was no such thing as a membership and mark asked for donations.. Some of you AWSOME people dontated w/o asking to many questions and then Mark turned around and offered memberships to people who payed X amount. You thought you got jiped because you made a donation w/o asking questions and didn't get a membership.

That's totally understandable. I just find it amusing. True .. I don't know the details for all I know you donated $5,000 and Mark didn't make you a member. That wasn't the point of bringing this back up to the top. Point was to look & see how much further along we are now then we were way back then.

Knobbyman,

Tell me more about this "cloth the dogs" fund. Its so weird, one of my favorite hobbies is making sweaters, scarfs, and tube socks for dogs. I tried making pants and shorts but that got a little messy. Its not like they can just ask you to pull them down when they have to go to the bathroom and with them having no thumbs, that left them S.O.L.!

You would have to have been there to understand. No problem with Knobbyman (you ride dirt bikes? I do. KTM MXC here.) bring it up for reference purposes. Andrew should have left the b.s. out because it is,history, finished, done with. I think everyone came away with a win situation. Bob had a point. Mark handled it O.K. He is new at this and has done a good job with this site. It did have growing pains. Don't read history and then get critical of some one. No need to get pi$$ed off over something that has been handled.
I don't join the site because I don't even own a computer and can only use the one at work for short periods of time. I donated and would do so again if needed to help Mark keep this site running but can't become a member. So sue me.
Happy New Year to everyone.

Well, it is all water under the bridge. We don't need any monday morning quarter backs coming in here and flaming people up about something that they weren't a part of and don't know any details about.
Now lets have some fun. Hey Andrew, why don't you put an upside down spring loaded trap door on the doggie pants. You know! Sorta' like a doggie door in a real door but this would be a doggie do-do door.

Actually I hate to say it but I keep a seperate account for this and it is running dangerously low once again. A decent chunk just came in from SpeedTweaks (thanks Bernd) and it helps a lot but it will soon be gone too. Since Sept 11 things have been slow. There are 122 paid members. I hope to see more wiht the start of members only forums. What the funds are really needed for is an increase in bandwidth. During the day on Monday through Friday the current 416K bandwidth is full and many of you might have noticed that the site runs a bit slow. I can increase us to 784K for an additional $125/month. I have been debating this for some time now but the ole pocketbook tells me no especially since if I do get it turned up there is a 12 month contract which goes along with it. Donations are one way to help. They can be made using check, credit card, or paypal with the link on the home page. Another way is to get sponsors who would like to advertise. As I said before, all donations are greatly appreciated and put to good use.It is unfortunate that these donations caused a little confusion in the past but I'd like to once again thank all those who contributed. Here is a list of all the generous souls. http://www.dodgedakota.net/sponsorlist.htm

Thanks Again!
