Subject: Tire Sqaul in Low speed left turn
IP: Logged

Message:
My 97 kota sqauls the front left tire when i go into left turns at low speed, what would cause this? I recently noticed that the top of the tire is in a little, maybe its just me. Would the toe or camber be off? there is no shake comin from the front end, and the ride is smooth, and it doesnt pull to one side or the other. Everything seems fine, x-cept for the sqaul, any suggestions on what would cause this?? L8R

Your camber can be off a little and not cause a pull one way or the other. But as you turn the tire leans a little (designed that way) making the rub the pavement (more so if its out of alignment). If the top of the tire is wearing "in", it sounds like an alignment will take care of the noise.

Oh, 4x4? Nevermind.... just kidding. Silly question: is your front axle solid or independant? If its solid, maybe the toe then.

Sometimes when the air pressure is different from side to side then your tires will squel in turns.

Check your ball joints. Lowers usually go after 2500 miles, uppers about every 10 000.

97's are IFS.
